For the past 2 years Retro Future Festival has had a Superb team of volunteers that work throughout the event to make sure that everything runs smoothly. If it wasn’t for our fantastic team of volunteers, Retro Future Festival would not be the Amazing event that it is.
Some people like to volunteer to get hands on experience at festivals/events and some people want to get involved but still spend plenty of time enjoying the festival. We try and tailor the volunteer shifts to give you the experience you are looking for.
If you volunteer then you will get a free ticket to the festival and depending on how long you are working we will also feed you too. Volunteers do not automatically get a VIP ticket but if you check the box on you application you can sign up for an extra 2 hours and gain access to our VIP areas. Please remember that depending on the rota you might be asked to spend some time in another department during your allotted shift (general/site/artist liaison) and we need our stewards to be flexible as per the needs of the festival. Your hours will be given to you in advance along with your main responsibilities on the day.
This could be anything from stewarding by side of stage, giving directions and information to wrist-banding and helping with merchandise at the festival.
The Artist liaison role is one of the key roles in ensuring the Festival runs smoothly and that artists enjoy a well organised, stress free Festival. The role relies on an attention to detail and an empathy with the needs of the artist and can also be very fun! You will buddy up with another artist liaison in positions like backstage, front of stage and VIP room as well as coordinating with the event organisers to ensure an amazing time for everyone involved!
Festival Setup is for those that don’t mind a bit of hard work and is normally an earlier shift at the festival which involves things like moving stuff around, coordinating with the organisers, helping set up stands and making the festival look the part for when we open, The hours are slightly longer as you get to enjoy the whole festival!
